Activity Adventure Insurance

Activity adventure days, weekends and holidays are fast becoming a regular feature for those seeking a little more excitement during their leisure time.

However, with the excitement comes a risk, not neccessariley from the activity, perhaps from someone else or even you being a little bit gung ho or over excited.

When holidaying in the UK, most people would not consider taking out holiday insurance, but with the increased risk in activity adventure it should be seriously considered.

When organising an activity adventure break, you should always carry out a risk assessment of your own, especially with outdoor pursuit and motorised activities.

1. Ask the activity provider if they have Public Liability Insurance.

2. Are instructors supervising the activity qualified. Instructors for under 17 year olds for outdoor pursuits require additional qualifications and the centre be ARLA Licensed.

3. Have they carried out a Risk Assessment on the activity?

4. How old is the equipment being used.

Activity adventure insurance is like anyother holiday insurance. It will cover you for cancellation of your holiday, loss of baggage and valuables, broken bones and injury. Like all other insurance policies there is an excess.
Because of the huge range of activities and the different variations of some activities (ie competitive racing is disallowed for most motorsports activities) it is definately wise to read the small print or discuss the policy with your broker.
Otherwise you could purchase a policy which does not cover the activity you are participating.

Some activity centres will provide activity adventure insurance as part of the package. Independent Brokers include Endsleigh Insurance who offer two levels of policy depending upon the activity you are participating. Please be sure to confirm this prior to purchase any policy.

Chard in Dublin

Cinnamon active recently organised a staff incentive trip to Dublin for Chard. The weekend event was arranged as part of a reward incentive for sales and letting staff.

Dublin was the preferred destination for Chard from a selection of 3 options put forward by Cinnamon active. The weekend met all the clients requirements for an interesting incentive that staff could participate and enjoy.
Dublin suited the young dynamic profile of the group and is within easy reach from the UK. The activities organised were tours which gave the group a real insight to Dublin by land, sea and almost from the air (Guinness Storehouse vantage point). Dublins hospitality is legendry and Temple Bar is packed full of bars, restaurants and nightclubs all within a compact area. The hotel was selected because of its location to Temple Bar, which ment everyone had easy access.

The team flew out of Heathrow to Dublin Friday evening and were met by Richard the Cinnamon Representative. The private transfer took the group to their 4 star hotel which was situated within walking distance of Temple Bar and the bars, restaurants and nightlife.

Saturday morning was an exhilerating trip out into Dublin Bay onboard RIB powerboats to explore the coastline and meet the seals. Even though the weather was stunning everybody was provided with all weather overalls. After the 1 hour excursion the group headed to Guinness Store House for a one hour tour of this iconic company. A buffet lunch was enjoyed, before a pint of the black stuff was sampled from the wonderful viewing gallery overlooking Dublin.

After a leisurely lunch the group were greeted outside the Guinness Storehouse, not by their coach, but a WWII Amphibious craft. All aboard for the 1 hour tour of Dublin. The Viking guide was informative to the history and quirks of Dublin.

The group were dropped at the hotel at 3pm for freetime, prior tomeeting up for dinner at 7pm in a traditional Irish restaurant in Temple Bar. After dinner Richard led most of the group to a bar club in Temple Bar, where the socialising continuted until we don't know when as Richard refuses to disclose that information!!

Sunday, after breakfast the group took to the karting race track. The Grand Prix was expected to be competitive between girls and guys, sales and lettings and so it turned out to be. The outdoor track allowed for plenty of competitive racing. We believe it was a good honest race without bribery or corruption.

From the karting the group was transferred to the airport and the group landed back at Heathrow at 5pm.

All elements of the event were booked and co-ordinated by Cinnamon active.
